Covenant Weapons

The Beam Rifle is the Covenant version of the sniper rifle. It is less of a choice for most hardcore players because of the fact that 3 shots too close together will cause it to over-heat. Otherwise it is virtually the same as the Human variant on all levels.

The Covenant Carbine is the Covenant vesion of the battle rifle. It benefits from a high rate of fire and high accuracy. As with the battle rifle a head shot will kill any un-shielded apponent. The carbine is often favored for slightly closer range because of its high rate of fire and high accuracy. If attempting to use this weapon as a psuedo-sniper rifle, be warned that the "trail" left by its ammo will make you very easy to spot.

The Energy Sword (Plasma Sword) is one of the deadliest weapons in the Halo series. It has seen a few changes since its introduction to usage in Halo 2, such as a limited battery in multiplayer, a reduced lunge range, and the lunge animaiton takes longer than in Halo 2. Also, the ability to "parry" other sword users has been added, making sword vs. sword battles harder to win.

The Covenant equivilant to the rocket launcher, the Fuel Rod Gun has not seen very many changes since Halo 2. The projectiles themselves are not quite as powerfull as the rocket launcher, so it has a larger clip size and a faster rate of fire to counter this drawback. Also, The fuel rod gun's projectiles can bounce off surfaces if they hit at the correct angle. It is not avaliable on any default map setting, but this can be edited in forge.

The needler has been reverted back to its Halo CE status: single wieldable and just a few needles in a player will cause a "super-detonation". It is viewed as one of the more powerfull weapons in the game do to its homing feature and the explosive nature of its projectiles. The homing feature is also a drawback because at close range they cannot track very well, also if the player starts to strafe in the same direction as the other player the needles will miss.

The Plasma grenade is very similar to the frag grenade in range and explosive power, its key difference is its ability to stick to players. I have found a very successful way of killing somebody with a shotgun, energy sword, or gravity hammer is to charge them and stick them, they will kill you, but you will take them with you.

The Plasma Pistol is the weekest weapon in the game, unless you use its overcharge feature which completley removes all energy shields from your target. The overcharged shot has been changed a little so it will not track targets as well as it did in Halo CE or even in Halo 2. A classic weapon combo is the plasma pistol/magnum or the plasma pistol/battle rifle for draining shields and a quick head shot.

The Plasma Rifle is the elite vesion of the SMG. It has an accelerating rate of fire and it does exellent shield damage. If partnered with an SMG, battle rifle, or magnum, it leads to quick kills.

The Plasma Cannon is the Covenant turret. It is virtually identical to the machine gun turret except for the fact that it does slightly more shield damage and slightly less armor damage than the Human version.
